How To: Make Your Own Pumpkin Spice Syrup

RecipesJanine HardonkComment

With the launch of PSL's happening on Sept. 6th, it only seemed fitting that I share my homemade pumpkin spice latte syrup with y'all! You'll find the recipe below, and keep scrolling too see pictures and detailed instructions. Cozy up folks, it's getting nippy.

To make your own pumpkin spice latte, you'll need an espresso machine. If you don't have one, scroll down to see my instructions for making a Pumpkin Coffee Misto without one.

Pumpkin Spice Latte:

  1. Steam about 1/2 cup milk  to 160° (I prefer the So Good Barista Blend soy milk, but 2% is great too!)
  2. Add 2 tbsp syrup to mug for a lightly sweetened cup, or 4 tbsp for the more standard version you'd get at a coffee shop.
  3. Pour one shot espresso into prepared mug, and add steamed milk.
  4. Optional: Top with whipped cream and lightly sprinkle with cinnamon.

Done! Drink away, friends.

Pumpkin Spice Coffee Misto:

  1. Brew 1/2 cup coffee double strength
  2. Add 2 tbsp syrup to a mug for a lightly sweetened cup, or 4 tbsp for the more standard version you'd get at a coffee shop. Add coffee to prepared mug.
  3. Heat 1/2 cup milk in saucepan over medium heat. If you have a milk frother, bust it out! If not, use a whisk to froth milk as it heats.
  4. Once warm and frothy, pour milk into mug
  5. Optional: Top with whipped cream and lightly sprinkle with cinnamon.

I hope you all enjoy this wonderfully basic fall beverage recipe. If you try it out, let me know in the comments! Swig on, beauties!
